The aim of the research project “PerManeNt” is the development of an integrated platform for operational monitoring, smart control, and sustainable energy management of water supply networks. The integrated platform will be applied to the external aqueduct system of the city of Patras, located in western Greece. The Municipal Enterprise of Water Supply and Sewerage of the City of Patras is the administrator of the external aqueduct system.
The project partners are the Center for Renewable Sources and Energy Saving ‘CRES’ (coordinator), the Hydraulic Engineering Laboratory, Department of Civil Engineering of the University of Patras, the company INTRACOM TELECOM and the Municipal Enterprise of Water Supply and Sewerage of the City of Patras.
The project’s scientific team has already visited the water supply network of the external aqueduct of Patras. For the implementation of the project, places of interest have been selected, while the environmental and energy monitoring indicators have been determined.
The PerManeNt project is being implemented within the framework of ‘RESEARCH – CREATE – INNOVATE’, co-financed by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) of the European Union and Greek national funds through the Operational Program Competitiveness, Entrepreneurship & Innovation (EPANEK) (project code: T2EDK-04177).
